The exhibition “Lisboa uma grande surpresa” can be seen in the Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa | Fotográfico until 31st December. The exhibition documents the remembrance of the city of Lisbon in the XIX century, through the images of streets, squares, monuments and other cityscapes. The photographs in display are the result of a mapping objective, made in a systematic and organized way throughout 10 years (1898-1908).
It is an opportunity to analyze the passage of time, the transformations on the urban landscape and the way we use (and used to use) public spaces.
